Javier Garrido Gomez

Javier Garrido Gomez is a professional padel player from Spain, aged 26, standing 1.84 metres tall. Born on 26 October 2000 in Spain, he plays on the backhand side and is currently ranked 20. He partners Juan Ignacio De Pascual.

Javier Garrido grew up in Córdoba, Spain, earning two nicknames along the way: "El Califa," a nod to his hometown, and "Metralleta", machine gun, for an offensive style built on rapid-fire shots that give opponents no time to read where the ball is headed. He initially preferred football, only committing fully to padel at 14 after a summer camp at Sierra Morena, and turned professional at 15.

His breakthrough came at 18, reaching a WPT semi-final in Alicante alongside Martín Di Nenno. Garrido went on to partner a long list of the circuit's names, including Javier Valdés, Di Nenno, Federico Chingotto, and Lucas Campagnolo, switching partners six times in 2023 alone before closing that year with Jerónimo González Luque. His junior and national-team résumé includes an Under-18 World title and two World Championships with Spain.
