Alejandro Ruiz Granados

Alejandro Ruiz Granados is a professional padel player from Spain, aged 32, standing 1.87 metres tall. Born on 12 June 1994 in Spain, he plays on the drive side and is currently ranked 21. He partners Javier Garcia Mora.

Alejandro "Álex" Ruiz Granados built a career that doubled as a comeback story: diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 10 in Málaga, he was initially told high-intensity sport wasn't realistic for him, and disciplined management of the condition became part of how he approached training from the start. He switched from tennis to padel, won under-16 and under-18 world titles, and completed the full Padel Pro Tour circuit by age 17.

Known as the "Captain America" of padel for his resemblance to the superhero, Ruiz plays left-handed from the drive side, excelling at disguising his shots before finishing with deceptive bandejas and rulos. His partnership history includes two WPT titles and a fourth-place ranking finish alongside Franco Stupaczuk in 2021, a World Championship final with Jerónimo "Momo" González in 2022, and a partnership with Juan Tello from 2023 that reached 5th in the pair rankings. He was part of Spain's title-winning 2021 World Team Championship squad.
