One title away from a year-end number one that nobody has been able to take from them, Coello and Tapia walk into the final of the Kuwait Major on Saturday 31 October against the most unlikely opponents left in the draw: Tello and Arce, playing their first Premier Padel final together. The men's final starts not before 17:00 in Spain (19:00 in Kuwait), after the women's final at 14:00. For the top seeds, a win means a fifth consecutive title for Tapia and the 13th of 2026, and according to Padel Magazine it would mathematically secure the world number one spot at the end of the season. For Tello and Arce, it is a chance to turn a quiet run into a Major.
The men's final: a perfect week against a first
The world number ones beat Jairo Bautista and Lucas Bergamini 6-1 and 6-4 in the quarterfinals, then dismantled Libaak and Alfonso, the pair that had knocked out the favorites in the round of 16, by 6-2 and 6-2 in just 56 minutes. They arrive from Milan, where they won the P1 two weeks ago. Tapia admitted earlier in the week that the year has not been easy. “It has been very difficult, we have gone through complicated moments this year,” he said. He also warned that one or two weeks of absence can ruin a whole season, a nod to the points concentrated at the end of the calendar.
Tello and Arce: a first final together
Tello and Arce beat Edu Alonso and Aimar Goñi by 6-4 and 6-3 in 1 hour and 19 minutes. On the ranking, Tello (19th) and Arce (29th) are far from the pair across the net, but a Major final is a different scale of match, and they have already beaten a seeded pair to get here.
What to watch on Court Central
The gap in experience is huge, yet the final can only be won in the details. Tapia and Coello have spent little time on court this week, with a 56-minute semifinal, while Tello and Arce needed 1 hour and 19 minutes to get past Alonso and Goñi. The favorites hold every advantage on paper; the Argentine pair holds the freedom of having nothing to lose.
The women's final: number one against a young rival
The first match of the day is a heavyweight one. Delfi Brea and Gemma Triay, the women's number ones, needed a tie-break in the third set to beat Claudia Fernández and Martina Calvo: 6-4, 2-6 and 7-6. Their opponents, Ari Sánchez and Andrea Ustero, also had to survive two tie-breaks against Paula Josemaría and Bea González: 4-6, 7-6 and 7-6. Two pairs who have both gone the distance, and a final that looks likely to follow the same pattern.
Time and where to watch
The women's final is scheduled for 16:00 in Kuwait, 14:00 in Spain and 10:00 in Argentina. The men's final follows on the same court, not before 19:00 in Kuwait, 17:00 in Spain and 13:00 in Argentina, at The Arena Kuwait. Red Bull TV streams the tournament worldwide from the quarterfinals, outside the excluded territories, and Premier Padel's YouTube channel covers countries without broadcast rights. Disney+ carries it in South America, Canal+ in France and beIN Sports in the MENA region. We have not found a confirmed Spanish broadcaster. By Saturday night, one pair will have a Major, and the other a number one that looks hard to catch.
