Gonzalo Rubio Perez

Gonzalo Rubio Perez is a professional padel player from Spain, aged 35, standing 1.83 metres tall. Born on 22 February 1991 in Spain, he plays on the drive side and is currently ranked 56. He partners Alvaro Melendez Amaya.

Gonzalo Rubio Pérez announced himself on the Spanish padel scene in 2016, winning the national absolute championship alongside Javier Ruiz González at Club de Pádel la Moraleja, eliminating three seeded pairs, including a tense, rain-affected round of 16, before beating favorites Matías Marina and Alejandro Ruiz in the final. "Cuando acabó el último punto estaba como en una burbuja," he said afterward.

Rubio's career since has moved through a string of partnerships, including Christian Fuster, Maxi Sánchez and, in late 2023, Antonio Fernández Cano. By April 2026 he had teamed with Ignacio Piotto, the pair entering the Kuala Lumpur FIP Silver as top seeds on the back of Rubio's FIP Bronze title in Mumbai that same month — two players climbing the rankings together at the same moment in their careers.
